Melissa seems a good example of one thing I dislike about the Swimsuit Issue. It seems like there is a constant stream of models the Swimsuit Issue auditions to be the Next Big Thing. Like Melissa, they show up for awhile and then seemingly disappear.
I always felt she was one of the lesser-known models. However, I do remember she hosted the 2004 "making-of" video (along with Jake Johannsen). Maybe they were playing her up.
