According to the SI editorial calendar for 2019, this year’s swimsuit issue is slated for May.
If this is true, the swimsuit issue will not be a glimpse of summer in the dead of winter, or a salve for your Super Bowl hangover.
Maybe it’s just me, but it kind of feels like the swimsuit issue as we know it is slipping away.
But in happier news, Swimsuitologist favorites Myla Dalbesio, Lais Ribeiro, and Barbara Palvin are all back for 2019, whatever month it happens to come out. A few preview shots have trickled in.

The possible move just bums me out. Just seems like a change with no good reason behind it. Swimsuit comes out after Super Bowl. Embarrassing to admit but I count how long til the issue comes out by weeks in the NFL calendar.
That said so far I'm ok with most of the announced lineup. Myla's preview pic was amazing. And Lais is just perfection.
P.S. I couldn't figure out why you had May Andersen pics posted but then I realized i'm just an idiot haha.
Yeah, it's weird... Maybe it's a misunderstanding or a typo or something. It's odd to take the photos now but not release the issue for another half year.
Having the issue in February seems like such an integral piece of the tradition.
On the other hand, if they had moved the issue to April or June I wouldn't have had a good pun to go with it...
