Beautiful!! And notice how the photographer—through old-school skill rather than modern Photoshop/digital manipulation—was able to take a perfect beachy swimsuit photo in what looks like less-then-perfect weather.
Same Anonymous commenter here— please allow me to make another grouchy things-were-better-in-my-day nostalgic comment as a follow-up:
One of the quirky things I love about the older SI Swimsuit photos was the subtle but intimate details that would be airbrushed out in a second today: Namely, notice the very subtle but visible peach fuzz hair on Paulina's forearm. Every time I see that it reminds me of the first moment in real life that a girl let me get close enough to notice the hair on her forearm.
Haha -- yes, I remember that peach-fuzz phenomenon in the 2-page spread of Kathy Ireland in the yellow corduroy bikini in 1985. (I think it was the centerfold.)
A far cry from the 2011/2012 ultra-smooth CGI-looking skin.
Hey, good to know I'm not the only anonymous poster on here lol. Paulina and Brian Lanker made a great team.
Guess the new issue should be out in two weeks. Can't imagine much excitement or publicity this year given everything. Pretty sure they're going to have the first trans model to be in the issue this year. I assume they didn't reveal her while shooting to make a bigger splash closer to the issue release. But now it just seems so.....unimportant. Not that I'm objecting to her presence if she is in there. Just like with the big girls, I wish they wouldn't make a big deal about it and just let the pictures speak for themselves.
