Happy Birthday, Pania Rose

The 2006 one-hit wonder is 31.

And, full disclosure, I forgot to post this on the 16th. It's now the 17th, and I am cheating by backposting this entry.

Pania is Australian, of Maori descent. But she kind of looks like if Cintia Dicker were Eastern European.

She also has an impressive body of non-SI swimwear and lingerie work.

Horse Appreciation Week: Wednesday

So this is embarrassing. Apparently, Hannah’s birthday is May 5. I had it written down as the 6th. (Two years ago as well.)

So I was all set for her 25th birthday, One-Piece Wednesday, and Horse Week to align today.

Oh well. We can still celebrate a day late.

And of course we must mention Hannah’s DirecTV horse ads.

Happy belated, cover girl!

We've Got Chrissy Pegged

This is pretty awesome.

It may be the part Chrissy was born to play.

A Nice Threesome

At the risk of being some blogger who just reposts marketing materials, I'm sharing some great shots of our girls posing for swimsuit companies. Both sets popped up on Swim Daily today.

Kelly Rohrbach looks amazing in Rise City Swim, which is one of those empowering bikini companies you hear about from time to time.

Look how empowering.

Then, Nina Agdal and Hailey Clauson do some glorious front-and-back bikini modeling for Beach Bunny.

Well played, girls. Keep 'em coming.

Happy Swimsuit Eve

Tomorrow we enjoy this year’s bikini harvest. I’m bummed that Martha Hunt will not be included. (I would have bet money she’d be in, but that shows what I know.)

Tell me this wouldn’t have been welcome.

DirecTV already had a relationship with pre-SI Hannah Davis, who portrayed their Genie once upon a time.

Now they’re back with a fun (but perhaps mean) ad featuring her and two other SI cover girls: Chrissy Teigen and Nina Agdal. It uses the Rob Lowe campaign as a jumping-off point.

A few objections.

1) The “be like the sexy women, not like the ugly women” approach calls to mind the mean-spiritedness of Bar Refaeli’s eyewear ad.

2) Jeans, cats, and menial jobs have nothing to do with your TV programming.

3) The “ugly” photos of the girls are pretty awesome.

Anyway, visions of bikini bottoms will dance in my head tonight. See you tomorrow!

One-Piece Wednesday: Irina Shayk & Samantha Hoopes

This is pretty cute.

I have to admit, when I first saw these Linda Farrow ads with Irina, my first (and I guess only) thought was, “What I wouldn’t give to see Irina in these amazing shiny one-piecers on her own!”

Thanks, Rebecca.

Here’s another non-SI one-piece. Samantha Hoopes in Maxim earlier this year.

Canonized

Bellazon user MissLimaVzla has uploaded some photos of what seems to be an SI swimsuit advertising tie-in with Canon.
Here’s the link, if you happen to have access to it.

This implies that three of my favorites—Sara, Ariel, and (most importantly) Hannah Ferguson—are returning.
And just for fun, you get to see Hannah make a bunch of weird, angry faces.

Bar Glasses

Bar Refaeli can’t seem to stop making offensive commercials.

First, she peddled her bill-paying phone app using (of course) cannibalistic white slavery.

Now her fashion eyewear company warns of the dangers of not realizing how plump a woman is.
The first one was bizarre and dark and outlandish. This one is crummy, a cheap joke at the expense of plus-size women.

Yes, Bar, you’re hot. You don’t have to use that to put other people down.

Topless Tuesday: Hannah Ferguson, 2014

This unabashed Hannah Ferguson fan got some nice news yesterday. She's the latest SI babe to be featured in ads for noted burger-and-bikini artisan Carl's Jr.

Congrats, Hannah! May I take your top?

I Spend Too Much Time Looking at Swimsuit Models

And here’s how I can tell.

I went down an internet rabbit hole and found this photoshoot with Bar Refaeli (and fellow hottie Candice Swanepoel):
…and I noticed that it takes place on the same Hollywood Hills balcony that Christie Brinkley lounges on in the SI Swim Air New Zealand safety video.
That’s a lucky deck.
